Experience counts for so much

Experience counts for so much when it comes to pulling together the right order in the right time-frame for a customer, and Foam Techniques' Scott Kelman has almost three decades of working in the foam industry to call upon.

Celebrating 12 years with the Wellingborough-based firm this year, Production Manager Scott is the link between the sales team and the successful delivery of the order to the customer - and according to his bosses, the word No is not part of his vocabulary.

Managing Director Vinay Relan said: "Before he came to us, Scott had worked for 19 years in the foam industry and there's no substitute for that experience. He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'No' and he is always ready to go the extra mile to make sure things happen to order and on time."

Foam Techniques supplies a wide range of specialist foams for filtration, sealing, acoustic, thermal, packaging and medical applications. The sales team calls upon its own vast experience to find exactly the right foam to meet a customer's requirements, and then the production team takes over.

Scott Kelman said: "My job is to plan the production side of the business day-to-day, month-to-month and year-to-year, making the factory as efficient as possible and working with the stores team to make sure we have what we need when we need it.

"Sometimes, though, you have to be quick to react to a customer's needs and that's when the whole team pulling together really makes a difference. When the sales team comes to me with something urgent, or to ask if something can be done, it's my job to try to make sure it gets done. Knowing the foam business, and having all those years of experience makes any challenging issues easier to handle."
